I am a certified bioenergetic therapist and mindfulness teacher who provides workshops, groups and individual sessions. I focus on working with the body, breath, and movement, as well as using traditional verbal therapy, to help release physical and emotional tension, as well as limiting beliefs to help people move into new areas of personal and spiritual growth.  I also use a contemplative approach which means integrating a meditative perspective as well as developing the intrinsic health and clarity that everyone has.

A certified bioenergetic therapist has 4 years of training, 3 plus years of personal therapy, and 60 hours of supervision.   With  30 years experience with bioenergetics, and 40 years practicing and teaching mindfulness, as well as my training in  gestalt and hypnotherapy, I can draw on a variety of methods to suit what each person needs at that moment.

My professional background includes supervising the Intensive Outpatient Program at Mercy Recovery Center, owning my own training, consultation, and counseling business, and supervising psychiatric and detoxification units for a community mental health center. My background also includes a co-founding a cooperative Montessori school, and founding Cypress Tree Zen Center, where I also served as abbot. I have studied with therapists trained in Gestalt, bioenergetics, hypnosis and psychodrama and with teachers of zen, vajrayana and vipassana traditions, as well as tai-chi and qi gong.

  1. Will you be doing any presentations or learning experiences in the Waterville or Bangor area in the near future? I live just a little bit North of Bangor. I am quite interested in the Beyond Talk: The Body In Therapy workshop but not sure I could make it to Portland by 9:30am. I am an LCPC, LADC and work for Wellspring, Inc. in Bangor, Outpatient Therapist. Thanks, Bob
